The Weekly Star – Wilmington, NC  Vol. XV No. 34 May 30, 1884
   We learn through a private telegram received by Mr. Geo. R. Ward, of this 
city from his cousin, Dr. E. W. Ward, of New River, Onslow county, yesterday, 
that Mr. A. C. Huggins’ examination before a coroner’s jury in relation to the 
killing of Dr. Charles Lesesne, on Tuesday last, resulted in his acquittal.  
Mr. Huggins’ children are still here.
