The Standard of  Raleigh, Sept. 2, 1863

DIED, of diptheria, in Onslow County, on the morning of the 14th August,1863, 
JASPER, only son of JONAS and ELIZA JONES, six years, nine months and 19 days.
This little boy was a deaf mute, and his winning ways had gained him the 
affection of all his companions.
