NETTIE FREEMAN MORTON Mrs. Nettie Freeman Morton, died at the residence of her son Gilbert F. Morton, 319 Walnut Street last night following a long illness. Mrs. Morton was the daughter of the late E. W. and Mary Marshall Freeman and was a member of Southside Baptist church. Surviving besides her husband C. E. Morton, retired contractor, of Wilmington are two sons, Gilbert F. Morton and Robert G. Morton, both of Wilmington; one sister, Miss Lou Freeman of Silverdale, N. C.; two brothers, E. W. Freeman of Silverdale, N. C., and C. M. Freeman of Maysville, N. C.; three grandchildren, Gloria, Elizabeth Hayes and Robert G. Morton, Jr., all of Wilmington. Funeral arrangements under the direction of Andrews Mortuary will be announced later. Additional Comments: Nettie May Freeman was the daughter of Elisha Washington Freeman and the wife of Charles Edward Morton (son of Westley Edward Morton, of Onslow County). Her two sons were Gilbert Freeman Morton and Robert Glenn Morton of Wilmington, NC. She is buried with her husband and two sons in Oakdale Cemetery, Wilmington, NC.
