Died
On the morning of the 19th inst at the residence of Mr John A Averett, in the
county of Onslow, Dr Joseph G Wallace, in the 37th year of his age.
His disease was consumption, with its attendant distressing symptoms, and
certain assurance of a fatal termination; yet that submissive meekness and
amiability of temper which characterized him when in health, were but more
strongly and beautifully developed throughout his long continued suffering. Not
a murmur or complaint was uttered, to pain the ear or add to the grief of those
who with maternal tenderness ministered to his wants. 
Unobtrusive gentleness of manners, pure morality with that charity which envieth
not, thinketh no evil, marked his intercourse with his fellow men, and have
secured for his memory, the respect and affection of those who knew him.
