Joshua MILLS of Cumberland Co., NC to David MILLS of Onslow Co., NC
8 August 1782

This Indenture Made this Eight day of August in the Year of our Lord One 
Thousand Seven Hundred & Eighty Two, Between Joshua MILLS of Cumberland County, 
North Carolina, Planter of the one part and David MILLS of Onslow County of the 
other part. 
Witnesseth that the said Joshua MILLES for & in Consideration of the Sum of city 
Pounds of Money in Gold & Silver to him in hand Paid by the Said David MILLS or 
Before the Sealing and Delivery of these Presents, the Receipt whereof is hereby 
acknowledged Hath Given Grant & Sold Aliened Released Conveyed & Confirmed & 
Enfeoff? of ye Unto Sd. David MILLS his heirs for Ever one Certain Tract or 
Parcel of Land situate Lying & Being in Onslow County aforesaid Containing One 
Hundred Acres more or Less. And is Bounded as followeth to Wit: Beginning at a 
Single Branch Side of Mills Swamp at a Red Oak thence N 190 poles W 120 poles to 
a pine S 170 poles to a pine in Mills line S 84? E 217 poles to the first 
Station. To have & to hold the aforesaid Bargain to the Sd. David MILLS his 
Heirs for Ever and the Sd. Joshua MILLS doth by these Presents Warrant the 
aforesaid Bargained & Granted Premises Unto the Said David MILLS his Heirs and 
Assigns Said Joshua MILLS his Heirs. In Witness whereof Sd. Joshua MILLS have 
hereunto Set my hand & fixed my Seal This 8th Day of August Anno Domni 1782.

Deed from Joshua MILLS to David MILLS for one Hundred Acres at an Inferior Court 
of Pleas & Quarter Sessions held for the sd. County. Present Thos. JOHNSTON, 
Esqr. Chairman & the rest of the Justices for sd. County. The within Deed was 
Proved by the Oath of John LEWIS & Ordered to be Registered.
