DEVOTED WIFE. FRIEND TO ALL. Born Sep. 5, 1840 - Died Dec. 27, 1920 Resting in hope of a glorious resurrection. The massive headstone is located in a small fenced area of the cemetery located at the back of the church sanctuary. Additional Comments: David Sanders Aman was the son of James and Elizabeth Aman. He married Ruth Jane Morton in 1859. She was the daughter of West Morton and Rachel Henderson. I presume that he was named in honor of David Ward Sanders, a wealthy plantation owner (Palo Alto) of the time. Some years after the death of D.W. Sanders, the Amans bought the plantation home, Palo Alto. I have no record of their being any children from their marriage. Ruth Jane's younger sister, Adellia C. Morton, married Lewis G. Thomas of Richlands. D.S. Aman, Ruth Jane, Adellia C. and her husband, Lewis G. Thomas, are buried beside each other.
