Gillett, of the County and State aforesaid, do hereby certify that Anna Barber-late of the County of Onslow, is dead, leaving no last will or testament, and that I am the proper person to receive letters of administration upon the Estate of the said deceased; that the said intestator died seized and possessed of the following property-Viz:-one piece or parcel of land-located in the County aforesaid, estimated to be about one hundred and fifty acres--some hogs,-cattle, and a small quantity of household furniture, the value of the whole-supposed to be about two hundred dollars---that the following are the names of the heirs or distributees of the Estate of the Said Anna Barber-dec'd; Viz: Lemuel Gillett, G. Attmore Gillett, Sallie Ann Gillett and Julia Ann Gillett, by their guardian, John A. Gillett; Mary Jane Barber, Lucius Barber and Eugene Barber-all minors, having no Guardian- all the parties above mentioned-residing the the County of Onslow-aforesaid- In witness whereof I hereunto set my hand, this 17th day of November 1868 (Signed) J.A. GILLETT Additional Comments: Anna Barber was the mother of John A. Gillett's first wife, Mary Ann Barber and the widow of Brice Barber. Brice was the son of Mitchell Barber. The heirs named are the grandchildren of Anna Barber.
