As I think I have down a good part for my three eldest named children I find it don't lye in my power to do anything more for them I hope they will be satisfied as this is all I shall give thm. of my estate. Item: I give and bequeath to my son BENJam. HALL old Jack Cloe, Cato, Randal, & Kitty also my Black mair with ball face as also the land and plantation whereon I live all wich I bequeath. I give to my son BENJAMIN to him & his heirs forever never the less he don't have possession of the plantation till the death of my wife DOROTHY HALL and at that time he is to pay to his four youngest brothers & sister fifteen pound viz: to each as they come of age or married. To my son SAMUEL HALL I give & bequeath the four following slaves Viz: Will, Anthony, Nancy & Silver together with a horse or mair wich my couzen EDWARD owes me for half a [ ink spill] wech I give him & his heirs forever. To my son Thomas I give the following slaves George, Phill, Amy & Salley and a young Bay mair to him & his heirs for ever. To my son JOHN HALL I give one negro boy Willow to him & his heirs for ever. To my son GEORGE WILLIAM HALL I give one negro boy Daniel to him & his heirs forever. To my daughter MARTHA HALL I give one negro girl Yankey to her & her heirs for ever. Item: I lend unto my Loving wife all the remainder of my estate let it be in what place or what kind so ever together with the plantation whereon I now live and during her life as also negroes not before given, stock, household goods except my mair and colt at my cousin EDWARD HALLS which I leave to be sold by my Exc's to pay my just debts and after the decease of my wife I devise all wich I lend her may be equally divided between my three youngest children JOHN, GEORGE WILLIAM & MARTHA HALL to them & their heirs forever. Item: If my son BENJAMIN die before he is of lawfull age it is my desire his estate be equally divided between the surviving children to wit. SAM.l, THOMAS, JOHN, GEORGE WILLIAM & MARTHA HALL the land to be sold at my wifes death and the money div.d amongst the children and if THOMAS or SAMUEL dies before they are of lawfull age their part to be divided in like manner tho if BENJAMIN survive either SAM.l, or THOMAS he is to have not any of there estate. And if either of my three children die which I have had of my present wife DOROTHY not any part of what I have given them as to go to BENJAMIN, SAMUEL or THOMAS HALL but be divided between the survivours. Lastly I appoint my worthy nephew EDWARD HALL my son BENJAMIN and my loving wife DOROTHY Executors to this my last will. Revoking and making void all other & former wills by me made and this only to be my last will in witness I have set my hand and seal this third day of January 1783 WM. HALL This will proved as to the hand writing in open court by the oath of William Cray and Dorothy Hall the Extr.x & Benj.a Hall one of the executors appeared & was quallifyed. Onslow County, NC County Court, July Term 1787. The will of WILLIAM HALL Dec.t as to the hand writing was proved in open court by the oath of Wm. Cray and Mrs. Dorithy Hall the Extrix & Benjamin Hall one of the Excutor appeard in open court & was duly Qualifyd by taking the oaths of an Executrex. Ordered they have Letters Testamentra.
