I Joseph Hall of Onslow County planter, being minded to setle my affairs while I am in health, do make this my will and testament in form following, cheife of all I commend my Soul into the hand of God my Creator and my Body to the earth to be decently buried hoping for the Salvation of the one and resurrsetion of the other thro the meritt of Jesus Christ my Redeemer and as for Such worldly goods as providence as trusted me with I dispose of the Same as followeth - first I will all my Just debts and needfull expences to be pay'd then I will and bequeath unto my daughter Mary Burns one Shilling Sterling with what She hath already had to be in full of her childs part, also I will and bequeath unto my daughter Jane Parrott one Shilling Sterling with what she has already to be in full for her childs part, also I will and bequeath to my wife Jane for her Comfort and Support during her naturall life the use of one third part of my plantation on queens creek where I now dwell, and of all my goods and chattells, also I will and bequeath to my only son Edward the present use of the other two thirds part of my plantation and after his mothers decease the whole with all my other lands adjoyning to him my Said Son Edward his heirs and assigns for ever. also I bequeath to my Said Son Edward after his Mothers decease all my goods and chattells rights and creditts for ever and in Case my Said Son Edward Shall be without leeving children or otherwise disposing of the land I now bequeath to him, then in that Case I will and bequeath my Said lands to my daughter Jane parrott and her heirs and assigns for ever, further I appoint John Starkey and my son Edward Executors of this my will, revoking all former wills by me made and declaring this only to be my last will and testament.
