Onslow County, NC - Lemuel Henderson 1898 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Will of Lemuel Henderson 1898 I Lemuel Henderson of the County of Onslow and State of North Carolina being of sound mind and memory but considering the uncertainty of my earthly existance do make and declare this may Last Will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say; First that my executor (hereinafter named) shall provide for my body a decent burial, suitable to the wishes of my relations and friends and pay all funeral expenses together with my just debts howsoever and to whomsoever owing out of the moneys that may first come into his hands as part or parcel of my estate. Item 1st I give and devise to my beloved wife Nancy E. Henderson all my real and personal property to have and to hold during her natural life or widowhood. Item 2nd I give and devise to my Daughter Susan Morton five dollars to be paid to her by my executor at may wifes decease Item 3rd I give and devise to my Daughter Maud J. Collins five dollars to be paid as before mentioned. Item 4th I give and devise to my son Willis L. Henderson the following real estate viz: a certain piece of land containing one hundred acres more or less and bounded as follows; commencing in the mouth of a branch (known as the North Branch) and running up the various courses of said branch to the fork just above the creek road thence with the prong running North East to the mouth of a ditch amptying into said branch thence with said ditch a West course along my plantation to the Biddle Branch thence down the various courses of said branch run to Starkeys Creek run thence down the various courses of said creek run to the beginning with privilidge of getting timber for building and all plantation purposes off the other part of my land not divised to him. Item 5th At may wifes Nancy E. Henderson's decease I give & devise to my boy children that may be living born unto me by the said Nancy E. Henderson all my real estate not otherwise devised to be equally divided between them by meets and bounds Item 6th At my wife Nancy E. Henderson's decease I Give and devise that all my personal property be divided equally between my girl children then living born unto me by my wife Nancy E. Henderson And lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint by beloved wife Nancy E. Henderson my lawful executrix to all intents and purposes to execute this my Last Will and Testament according to the true intent and meaning of the same and every part and clause thereof hereby revoking and declaring uterly void all other Wills and Testaments by me heretofore made.
