Onslow County, NC - Will of Joseph Simmons 1805 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Will of Joseph Simmons 1805 In the name of God Amen I Joseph Simmons Onslow County in the Province of North Carolina Clantor this 25th Day of February Eighteen Hundred and five being sick & weak in body but of perfect Mind & Memory and calling to mind the Mortality of my Body do Make and Ordain this my Last will & Testament & as touching such worldly substance as it hath pleased God to help me with I give & dispose of in the following manner that is to say Inprimus my will is that all my just that I owe to all Men or Manner of persons be well and truly paid out of any Esate by my Executors Herafter Named in Conveniant time after my death Item I lend to my loving wife two cows & calf One bed & bedsted & furniture cattle sheep & hogs the use to which she is to have for bringing and schooling my small children one third of the property that is lent to my wife at the marriage of my Daughter Nancy Simmons is to have one third of that property I have also given to my Daughters Alice Carlicy & Poly Haskins that I can at present Item I give & Bequest to my son James Simmons my old plantation at Wollis Creek and all the land joining there unto & fifty dollars to be out of my Estate Item I give to my suns Berely and Joseph & David Simmons one hundered dollars each to be raised out of my Estate Item I give to my sun Benjamin Simmons the plantation whereon I now live with the lands joining thereunto also one feather bed & cow & calf at the of his mother Item I give to my Daughter Seney one third part of the property that I lent to my wife Nancy Simmons also if any one of the children Dies it just is to be divided am all my children I also by these presents order & appoint my Trusty friends, Josiah Henderson and Hennery Agerton Executors of this my Last Will and Testament of this my last and I do Establish of this & no other for my last Will & Testament Whereof I have Hereunto Set my Hand & affixed my Seal the the day & Date before written Signed: Jo.
