He was born in 1829. According to the Onslow County Marriage Records, he was married three times, not counting his last wife, Caroline Wilder. He married Eliza Williams on 08 Nov 1847. He married Rebecca F. Hardison on 05 May 1856, and he married Susan M. Horn on 02 Mar 1858. In the Onslow County Marriage Records, there is a "John T. Whitehurst" listed as a Justice of the Peace, and having performed several marriages. Mary Caroline "Carrie" Wilder was the daughter of Abram & Eliza Wilder. She was born in 1841. After her first husband died, she married Stephen H. Morton in 1866. This was also his second marriage, as his first wife had died about 1859. Their son, George Lee Morton was born in December of 1866 in Onslow County. About 1871, Stephen H., Carrie and their son, George Lee, moved to the Wilmington, NC area, where, in 1872, S.H. joined his brother-in-law, Jesse Wilder, in his successful turpentine distilling business. Mary Caroline Morton is buried in Bellevue Cemetery, Wilmington, NC. Abram, his wife, Eliza and their two children, Jesse & Caroline Wilder were living in the Stump Sound area of Onslow County at the 1850 Census. He and his family had moved from Onslow County and were living in the Wilmington, NC area at the time of the 1860 Census. G.N. Ennett was George Noble Ennett, a physician. "one pair shot and Two pair spoon moles" A "mole" appears to be a "mold".
