I find my bodily health, strength & appetite leaving me & I shall also go and leave you all before long. I want you to take what I am now in possession of & owner of. It is but trifling in quantity as a value. There is my feather bed and bedstead, worth but little, my two wheels, my (illegible) and hat (?) together with other articles not convenient at present to enumerate. I do not want the trouble of a vendor (?) about, but sell it including my hogs, two sows and five sheep for which you can get (illegible). Sister Betsey, Rachel & Susanna black frocks & handkerchiefs. Little Frank or Francis a pair of trousers as he is (illegible) for cloths. Buy my son Edward a coat & waist coate like his brother Nathan's. Pay Stephen Wallace for his corn I had of him, pay my taxes and yourself as far as it will go. & as my son Edwd. is bound to you, take Susan my daughter and raise her as she is extremely fond of her brother Ned and he of her. Nathan, their elder brother, if he chooses can come and see them both at once. Which bequests and gifts were made by the said Sally & in her dwelling house on thus (?) day before she died, being the 4th of March AD 1830 at which time & place, she appeared in every degree to possess her usual understanding & in presence of Nathan Askew. Signed by James Glenn, her nominated executor for Sally Askew State of North Carolina, Onslow County, August Term 1830. Then was the above will proved by the oath of Nathan Askew and James Glenn qualified as executor & the same in due form of law. Test: D. W. Sanders, clk
