I, Linus Barrow, of Onslow County being very sick and weak of body but of perfect mind and memory, thanks be given unto God therefore & calling unto mind the mortality of my body knowing that it is appointed unto all men once to die, do make and ordain this my last will and testament, that is to say, first of all and principally, I give and recommend my soul into the hand of Almighty God that gave it and my body I recommend to the earth to be buried in decent Christian burial at the discretion of my executors, nothing doubting but at the general Resurrection, I shall receive the same again by the almighty power of God and as touching such worldly estate it hath pleased God to bless me in this life, I give, devise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form (illegible). I devise and bequeath to my wife Elzy Barrow all my lands her lifetime and if she should die without any lawful heirs of my body, it is my request for the above mentioned lands to go to Richard Barrow's children. I will to my Mother the just sum of Seventy five dollars. The balance of my estate to be sold and put the use of my creditors. Likewise, the property that belonged to my wife from the estate of her father decd, I wish her keep all her lifetime and then for her to dispose of it at her pleasure.
