I Mary Cahoon of Onslow County and State of North Carolina being of sound & perfect mind and memory blessed by god do this 19th day of June in the year of our Lord 1826 do make and publish this my last will & testament in manner following. That is to say First I give & bequeath to my daughter Mary Cahoon one chest, one feather bed & stead & furniture. I give to my daughter Apolis (?) Cahoon one feather bed & stead & furniture, one horned pided (?) heifer. I give to my daughter Mary Cahoon above mentioned one no horned heifer. I give to my son Edmund H. Cahoon, one cow & calf. Also I give to my daughter Nancy Cahoon one woollen wheel, one linnen wheel, one (illegible) Tabb, seven sitting, one Buffet, one case knives & forks, also I give to my son Morton (or Martin) Cahoon, one horse by the name of Bell, one small black chest, one bridle. It is my desire that the remaining part of my property namely one man named Pidgeon, two cows & calves, (illegible) cartwheels, two cart bodies, all of my Plantation tools, household & kitchen furniture, all my hogs also my crop as it now stands at a credit of six months for the purpose of paying off all my just debts my body to be buried in a decent & christian (?) (illegible) then the balance of money left to be converted to the proper use of Educating and raising my five youngest children namely John Cahoon, Apolis Cahoon, Mary Cahoon, Edmund H. Cahoon and Daniel Cahoon. And I hereby make and ordain Luke Huggins Esqr. Of Onslow County & James Wade to be my executors of this my last will & testament. Then was the Execution & publication of the foregoing will duly proved in open court by the oath of Abraham Burnap who swore he heard the said Mary Cahoon the testatrix acknowledge, publish, & declare the same to be her last will & testament.
