State of North Carolina, Onslow County. I, Sigby Curtis being sick of body but of good sound memory calling to remembrance the uncertainty of this trancetory (?) life & that all flesh must yield to death where it shall please God to call for it. First of all, I recommend my soul to Almighty God who first gave it me & my body to be buried in a most Christian like manner as shall suit my Executors whom I shall hereafter mention. I will & desire that my funeral charges shall be well & truly paid with all my just debts in a convenient time after my death. ITEM I lend to my beloved wife & child all of my estate during her life time or widowhood & then for my child to have it both personal & individual. I also nominate & appoint my beloved wife & my worthy friend Thomas Ennet to this my last will & testament revoking and disannulling all other will or wills heretofore by me made & this to be my last will & testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & affix my seal in the presence of Test Jos. M. Ennet Test. Richard Bruce (signed) Sigby Curtis Onslow County, Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions, May term 1829.
