I, Ezekiel Edens, of Onslow County, weak in body but of sound memory, thanks be to God for the same, do this 17th day of May 1829, make and publish this my last will and testament, in manner following. First of all, I lend my true and loving wife, Mary Edens, during her life or widdowhood, all my property and possessions, and her decease, any kind to be equally divided between my five boys and all the rest of my property that shall be found at the decease, shall be equally divided amongst my lawfull heirs. And further I, Ezekiel Edens, nominate and appoint my friend Thomas (his mark) Edens and Ezekiel (his mark) Edens my hole and sole executors to this my last will and testament in trust for the use within maintenance, signed sealed and acknowledged in presence of us Elijah (his mark) (illegible - Sterling?)
