I, Luke Huggins of the County of Onslow & State of North Carolina, being of sound mind & memory have made the following will & testament, revoking all others heretofore by me made. ITEM First, I hereby lend to my wife Elizabeth Huggins all the lands which I purchased of Dempsey Jones, Nicholas Daniel Cahoon, & also the lands which I purchased of Edw. B. Dudley situated near Swansboro during her natural life. ITEM Second, I will that Owen Huggins have all the lands I purchased of William Hadnot, Edward Hammonds and heirs of Joshua Hammons, Willouby Stephens and heirs of Nathaniel Lewis. Further I will that said Owen Huggins have all the cattle and hogs belonging to said plantation. ITEM Third, I will that David Marshall have all the lands I purchased of the heirs of Lemuel Doty, decd. Also the lands I purchase of Susan R. Huntington and five hundred dollars in cash. ITEM Fourth, I will that Owen Huggins have my frock coat, pantaloons & vest, and that David Marshall have my black suit of cloths. I will that all my negroes be divided into three lotts so as for them to be in families so far as the nature of the case will admit of and my wife Elizabeth Huggins to have one of said lots and the other two lots to be set off to my brothers & sisters children, or the value thereof. I also wish my negroes to remain together untill my crop which are now growing are gathered. I will that my corn, bacon, pork and lard be at the disposal of my wife whi8ch are now on hand. I wish all my real estate held or not otherwise divided to be sold and equally divided between my brothers & sister children. The above mentioned land to be sold at the discretion of my Executors. I wish all my money notes, judgments, and accounts to be equally divided between my wife and brothers & sisters children. I wish the proceeds of my crop now growing to be equally divided between my wife and brothers & sisters children of which I include one half of the crop made on the plantation where Owen Huggins now lives. I wish after my crop is gathered that all my horses, cattle, hogs and sheep be sold and the proceeds to be equally divided between my wife and brothers & sisters children. I wish David Marshall to have my silver watch. I wish Owen Huggins to have double barrelled gun and Luke B. Huggins to have my George Dudly gun. I will that all my household and kitchen furniture plantation utensils to be sold and the proceeds to be equally divided between my wife & my brothers and sisters children. I hereby constitute and appoint John A. Averitt, Owen Huggins & David Marshall my lawful executors in Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand the twentieth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty five.
