I, William Mitchell, disposes of my property in the following manner (viz.) My will is that my wife reside on the plantation where she now does & that she has all the cleared land that is included within the boundary of a certain piece disclosed to the subscribing witnesses and that during her life, with a sufficiency of fire wood and timber. I want her to have the following negroes (viz.) old Arter & Leah his wife, Jack & Prude his wife also Cleo, Maranda & Phebe. I also will to her, her choice of two horses, four beds & furniture, six cows, five sows and pigs, ten yews & lambs & as much of the kitchen furniture as she wants and the balance of the perishable property to be sold & the balance of the negroes and lands to be rented and hired out by my executor while my son William comes to age & then for him to draw his proportional part of said property and soon as each and every one come to age except my daughter & she to have her part when she marries or comes of age & further I want my executor to have the educating of my sons and my wife that of my daughter & if my wife should die before my daughter is raised, it's my wish that Mrs. Edwd. Ward thereto (?) have the further management of said daughter & I do appoint Watt-- (?) (Hellur or Kellem (?)) of Jones County my executor and no other and his executor not to be mine, in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this the 21st day of February 1830. Then was this will of William Mitchell proved in open court by the oaths of Wm. Montfort & Joseph Burns and Watts (?)
