I, William Murrell, being of perfect mind and memory and knowing that God has appointed unto all mankind once to die, do make and ordain this my last will and testament in the manner and form following (viz). First of all, I recommend my soul to the Lord of heaven who gave it and my body to be buried in a decent Christian like manner at the option of my executor herein after mentioned. 2nd It is my will that all my just debts be paid out of the proceeds arising from the sale of my perishable property. 3rd I give and bequeath to my son Elijah Murrell the following negroes (viz.), Henry, Jack, Conner, Huldy, Nicey (?) and her two children George & Talula (?). I give to my daughter Susan White the following negroes (viz.), Henry, Mary, Esther, Erasmus, and one negro woman (illegible), also one bed & furniture. I lend to my daughter (Mary Barry?) the following negroes (viz.), Anthony, Cate & her two children (illegible) and Lucinda during her life and at her death to belong to her heirs begotten of her body and also one bed & furniture. I give to my grand children Jackson and Mary Ann Murrell the following negroes (viz.), Anaka (?) & her two children Simon & Peter together with their future increase to be equally divided between them. I also give to grand daughter Mary Ann Murrell one bed and furniture. I also give to my grandson Jackson Murrell one negro boy named Congil (?). I give to my grand son (illegible) Barry one negro boy Aman (?). I give to my grand son Bazel Barry one negro boy named Hardy (?). I give to my grand son Bryan Barry one negro boy named Willie. I give to my grand daughter Mary B. Murrell one mulatto girl named Selah also one chest and one table. I give my grand son Elijah Murrell one negro girl named Lucy (?). I give to Esther Barry two cows and calves, ten barrels of corn, five hundred pounds of pork & use of the house where she now lives during her natural life. I give to Mary Barry, daughter of Esther Barry, two hundred dollars to be (taken & paid {?}) out of the proceeds arising from the sale of my perishable property. I give to my son Elijah Murrell the following tracts of land lying on the west side of the north west branch of New River, being all the land and plantation whereon I now reside together with all the houses (?) & priviledges thereunto in any way belonging. Also one tract or parcel of land lying near the back entry approaching Buckner house lands containing by estimation two hundred acres. I also give my son Elijah Murrell all the remainder of my property not therein disposed of. Lastly, I appoint my son Elijah Murrell my whole & sole executor to this my last will & testament, revoking all former wills at any time by me made.
