I, Daniel Nixon of the State of N. Carolina and Onslow County do make this my last will and testament in the manner following ITEM the first I give and bequeath to my son James M. Nixon (one?) slave named Harry and Charley and Jesse & Anna & George & Hinny & Enock and Princess & also the well known plantation where Col. Edward Williams now lives which I gave to him in a deed of gift which said land said James M. Nixon conveyed away to William McDaniel. ITEM the 2nd I gave and bequeath to my grand daughter Sarah E. Nixon one slave named Lucy to her forever. ITEM the 3rd I gave to my grandson Thomas D. Nixon one slave named Balaam to him forever. ITEM the 4th I gave to my grand daughter Mary A. Nixon one slave named (Othy or Olly) to her forever. ITEM the 5th I gave to my grand daughter Marcie L. Nixon one slave named Allen to her forever. ITEM the 6th I gave to my grandson James C. Nixon one slave named Randel to him forever. ITEM the 7th I gave to my grand daughter Alm(ince?) L. Nixon one slave named Matilda to her forever. My son James M. Nixon has already received the above mentioned property from me. ITEM the 8th I gave to my grand daughter Sarah E. Nixon a half dozen silver table spoons to her forever. ITEM the 9th I gave to my grand daughter Almisa L. Nixon a half dozen silver tea spoons to her forever. Also I gave to my son James M. Nixon one other negro boy named Raisun. ITEM the 10th I gave to my daughter Mary Wood one large mahogany dining table, one silver ladle to her & her heirs forever. One droping table, brass mounting, also one bed and furniture, also one hand mill, one pair flat irons, one hachet to her and her heirs forever. ITEM the 11th I gave to my grand daughter Mary Ann Wood a half dozen silver tea spoons to her forever. ITEM the 12th I gave to my son in law Wm. Wood all my stock of hogs to him forever and (illegible) all the remaining part of my estate that's not mentioned in the above will or otherways disposed of except one years support that I gave to my son in law Wm. Wood for his family at the discretion of my executors herein after named to be sold by my executors and the proceeds arising with all my notes, judgements, and accts to be equally divided between my son James M. Nixon and my daughter Mary Wood, except one hundred dollars that I give to my son James M. Nixon, out of the notes I have of my Mother in law's estate. Lastly I nominate and appoint my two worthy friends to wit John F. Spicer Esqr and William Everett my Executors to this my last will and testament.
