In the name of God, Amen. I, William Redd, being at this time in perfect health as well of sound mind & memory, blessed by God for the same, do make, publish and declare this to be my last will and testament in manner & form following, hereby revoking all former wills by me made. ITEM First of all, I commend my soul to the care of my God who gave it and my body to be decently buried at the discretion of my executor: ITEM 2nd I give and bequeath unto my children, namely Sigley, Kincy, Nelly, Mary & Sarah, each twenty shillings. ITEM 3rd I loan unto my wife Sarah Redd one third of all my property that I am in possession of during her natural life, then to be equally divided between my two youngest children William & James. ITEM 4th Also, the rest and residue of my estate I give and bequeath to my two sons William & James to be equally divided them in both quantity & quality and should either of them die before coming of lawfull age or marrying, the other to have his property to them, their heirs & assigns forever. Last of all, I nominate constitute and appoint my friend Bazel R. Smith my whole and sole Executor. In testimony whereof I hereunto set my hand and affix my seal this the tenth day of August 1822.
