I, Elizabeth Rhodes, of Onslow County & State of North Carolina being of sound mind & memory thanks be to god for it but calling to mind the mortality of my body & knowing it is once appointed by God for all humans to die, I do make this my last will in the words following. First, It is my desire that all my just debts & funeral expenses be paid. I give & Bequeath unto my daughter Evaline (?) Harget the sum of fifty cents. I give & bequeath unto my daughter Mary Humphrey the sum of fifty cents. I give & bequeath unto my daughter Narcissa Howard the sum of fifty cents. I give & bequeath unto Margaret Rhodes my daughter one negro woman named Orris (?), all my cattle & all I otherwise possess to her & her heirs & assigns forever. I also nominate & appoint my son Anthony H. Rhodes Executor to this my last will & testament in witness whereof & here set my hand & seal date first above.
