In the name of God Amen. I, William Ritter of the county and state aforesaid, being weak of body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be to God, do this 8th day of April 1831, make this my last will and testament as follows (viz.) ITEM I give and bequeath to my son William Melton all my land lying on the east side of the river and to him and his heirs and assigns forever. ITEM I give and bequeath to my son Micajah Ritter all the residue of my lands lying on the west side of the mill road to him & his heirs & assigns forever. ITEM I give and bequeath to my daughter Margarett Ritter the bed & furniture that is called hers to her & her heirs and assigns forever. ITEM I give to my daughter Milly Ritter one bed & furniture to her & her heirs & assigns forever. My will and desire is that my children all continue together until this (illegible) is finished at the discretion of my executors that I shall hereafter name, then all the rest of my property after my debts are paid to be sold and equally divided to them, my three daughters namely Margarett, Milly & Elizabeth Ritter, to them and their heirs & assigns forever. Lastly, I appoint and ordain my worth friend Robert Aman executor to this my last will & testament, whereof I have hereunto set y hand and affixed my seal this day and date first above written.
