I, Phinehas Rouse of the State of North Carolina & County of Onslow, being weak in body but of sound mind & memory doth make this my last will and testament. I lend to my wife (Fanney?) Rouse during her natural life all of my lands, one of my choice horses, three cows & calves of the choice of my stock, two sows and pigs, three (saw horses?), all my household and kitchen furniture, my cart & geer, twenty barrels of corn, five hundred weight of bacon, thirty (illegible) of lard. I want my stock of sheep to be sold & two (sows?) to be bought, my choice plow & geer, two axes, two grub hoes, two weeding hoes, fifteen pounds of coffee, twenty pounds of sugar, my best riding saddle Also my negro women (Tina?)) & (Jesse?) (Haley or Holly?) I leave to my wife till twenty one years old and all of my property that is not before willed away to be sold at my death, and all that I leave to my wife at her death to be sold and the money to be divided between Ebenizer Rouse & John Rouse, their heirs and assigns forever. This being my last will and testament, Witness whereof I hereunto set my hand and seal this the 2nd day of Novr. In the year of our (Lord) one thousand eight hundred and thirty three.
