Will Book 1

In the name of God, Amen.  I Obadiah Scott, (illegible) Onslow County, being 
of sound & perfect mind & memory (illegible) to God do this thirty first day 
of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & twenty three, 
did publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following that 
is to say.  _ _ _ _
First my will is all my just debts & funeral expenses to be paid.
Secondly, I lend to my beloved wife Elizabeth Scott my (--ur--tion) called her 
bed with all my household furniture she has in possession & two cows & calves 
during her natural life.
Thirdly, I give my son Isaac Scott one hundred dollars (illegible) him out of 
Samuel Frazel' notes.
Fourthly, I give my son Charles Scott one dollar.
Fifthly, I give my daughter Elizabeth Sommerset one dollar.
Sixthly, I give my daughter Rebeckah Ellis one dollar.
Seventhly, I give my son Jacob Scott one dollar
Eighthly, I lend to my two grand children, namely the children of my daughter 
Rebeckah Ellis two cows & yearlings now in her possession and my daughter to 
have the use of them.
My will is for (illegible) that my horse bridle & saddle & all the rest 
(illegible) to be sold at six months credit & the proceeds to be divided 
between my sons Isaac Scott, Jacob Scott & my two grand children, the 
daughters of Rebeckah Ellis.
My will is that all the property I left my wife at her death be given my 
daughter Elizabeth Sommerset.
