I Wm. Webb of Onslow County being in a very low state of bodyly health, but of sound mind and memory and it is appointed unto all men once to die, do make this my last will and testament in the following words, that is to say… First of all, I recommend my soul to the hands of my Redeemer and my body to its parent earth to be buried in a decent Christian like manner at the discretion of my executors and as touching or concerning such worldly estate as it has pleased to bless me with in this life, I devise (?) & dispose of in the following manner that is to say… First of all, I give and Bequeath unto my beloved wife Elizabeth Webb all of my stock of hogs cattle and sheep and household & kitchen furniture to her, her heirs and assigns forever. I also give and bequeath unto my beloved wife the land on which I now live unto her life time and after her death I then give and bequeath said land to my grand son William R. Dawson to him, his heirs and assigns forever. I also give unto my beloved wife all my crop of every description, housed and not housed or ready to be housed, now standing and growing on the premises where I now live, in like manner, with all the rest of gifts, to this my last will & acknowledging this to be my last will and testament whereof I, the said Wm. Webb, do hereunto set my hand and seal. (signed) Wm. Webb In presence of E. W. Cox Jno. (his mark) Dawson State of North Carolina, Onslow County, Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions, August term 1830. Then was the above will of William Webb offered for probate and proven by E. W.
