My will and desire first is that my body be buried in a decent Christian like manner & that my funeral expences & my just debts be paid out of my estate by my Executor, whom I shall hereafter appoint. I give and bequeath unto Rachel Burnap, a daughter of Buckner Barry, my best feather bed with two good sheets and one of my best bed quilts; also my trunk and all my wearing apparrel which it contains. I give and bequeath unto my niece Narcissa Newel my chest with such of my wearing apparel as it contains. The remainder of my property I wish to be sold by my executor upon a credit of six months; and the proceeds when collected, together with such notes, accounts & etc., as I may have, I wish to be equally divided amongst my niece Narcissa Newel and my three nephews, the children of my brother Richard Shepard. That portion of my estate to which my three nephews may (be) entitled, I wish to be expended and paid out by executor in having them educated. I constitute and appoint my friend Jno. A. Avirett my sole executor to this my will, revoking all others by me made. Then was the foregoing paper writing offered for probate as the last will and testament of Esther Barry and admitted as such upon the oath of Charity Greves, the subscribing witness thereto and John A. Averitt Esq., the executor therein named appeared in open court and was duly qualified according to law. Wherein it was ordered that letters testamentary be granted to said executor and this will recorded as the last will and testament of Esther Barry, decd.
