This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Beverly Cole ==================================================================== WILLIAM CARNEY WILL State of North Carolina County of Onslow Will Book 2 In the name of God, Amen, I, William Carney, of Onslow County North Carolina, being in health and of sound mind and memory, do make this my last will and testament, first I give my soul to God who give it and my body to be buried. 1st I leave my canoe & seines, oyster tongs and stock of horse, cattle and hogs, and farming tools to be sold and all my just debts to be paid. 2nd I give and bequeath to my son Tobias Carney one bed and furniture. 3rd I give and bequeath to my son Robert Carney one dollar in money. 4th I give and bequeath unto my wife Margarett Carney and Harriett Carney all the residue of my property consisting of household and kitchen furniture together with all my money after my debts are paid, to be equally divided between my wife Margaret Carney and my daughter Harriet Carney, and I do hereby constitute and appoint my trusty friends B. J. Pollard Executor to this my last will & testament this the 19th day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty six. Robinson and William C. Pearson, the subscribing witnesses and the same ordered to be recorded and filed as the last will and testament of said William Carney, whereupon the executor therein named appeared in open court and was duly qualified by taking the usual oath of an executor.
