First, I lend to my beloved wife three Negroes and their increase that is to say Sena, Easter and Mary and also the house wherein I now live with the following land; that is beginning at a branch above the turpentine landing then up said branch to the main road or old mill road, then thru across the said road to a small branch, then down said branch to a small black gum, John Cooper's corner, then east to a sweet gum, then down a bottom with John Cooper's line to the creek then down Mill Creek to the mouth and then up Stones Creek to the beginning with the privalige of timber on the balance of my land of getting timber for the use of the plantation, also three bed and furniture and one mare and cott and all my household and kitchen furniture and all of my stock of cattle and hoggs and sheep and all my farming utentials during her nateral, then I give to my beloved wife Lucreicy (?) Cooper one feather bed and furniture, one horse, Robin, and one barrel and a piece of pork and one thousand pounds of bacon, two stands of lard of her choice, all my corn that I have on hand and all my potatoes and peas and all my pottrey of all discription and all my bees and two horse cart to her and her heirs forever, then all the balance of my land I want to be equally divided between all my children except my son John Cooper who has received his part. And at the death of my wife, I want the part that I lone her allso divided as above named, that is my land and all the balance of my property that I lone to my wife to be equally divided among all of my children: John, Elizabeth, Nancy Sarah, Gaberal, (Sucey?), & Rachel, all the balance of my estate after my debts and all expences of every kind is satisfied, I want it equally divided among all my children and I do make and ordain this to be my last will and testament and revoking all other wills by me made and ordain and publish this to be my last will and testament and I do hereby appoint and ordain my friend Joseph Ennett Executor to this my last will and testament in witness I hereunto set my hand and seal the day and date above written. Pollock State of North Carolina} Onslow County} Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions June Term 1854 The foregoing paper writing purporting to be the last will and testament of Jesse Cooper, decd., was at this term offered for probate by Joseph Ennett, the executor therein named and the same was duly proven according to law by the oaths of Jarrott Gornto and Q. A. Pollock, the subscribing witnesses thereto. When the said Joseph Ennett, the Executor therein named, duly qualified as such according to law, whereupon the registration of said will was ordered.
