I, Thomas Ennett, of the State of North Carolina and in the County of Onslow, being in tolerably health, in sound and disposing mind, calling to mind that is onst apointed for all men to dy, I make, ordain and establish this my last will and testament, setting aside all other wills or demises in will form whatever, and acknowledge this to the principle and all; first, I recommend my sole to allmighty God hoe gave it me, my body to be buried in a decent Christian like manner, and tuching on my little wealth that it has been pleas God to bless my with, I dispose of in the following manner and form to it, viz. I give all my lands and other property to my wife, Zilpah and her two children namely Zilpah and William Thomas, to be equally divided amongst them three after all just debts is paid and other charges that must occur. My perishable property to be sold at a six months credit, leave to this my last will and testament William Ennett and John F. Spicer my executors to act in all cases up to the will and to the advancement of my beloved wife and her two children before named; dated this 10th day of November (1840?) and signed with my hand in presents of Witness: J. A. Marble Witness: Wm. Ennett (signed) Thomas Ennett State of North Carolina} Onslow County} Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions, February Term 1846. Then was this paper writing purporting to be the last will and testament of Thomas Ennett, bearing date 10th day of November 1840, was duly proved by the oath of William Ennett, one of the subscribing witnesses, as the last will and testament of said Thomas Ennett and the testimony of John A. Avirett and David W. Sanders, who duly proved the death of Jarvis Marble, the other subscribing witness to said will and his signature, and it is ordered and adjudged by the court that said paper writing is the last will and testament of Thomas Ennett, deceased, and that the same be filed and recorded as such. William Ennett, one of the executors named in said will, came into court and qualified as such and it is ordered that letters testamentary give to him. Jasper Etheridge, clk
