This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Beverly Cole ==================================================================== CHRISTIAN FOY WILL State of North Carolina County of Onslow Will Book 2 In the name of God, Amen, I, Christian Foy, of the County of Onslow and State of North Carolina, being sick and weak of body, but of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding, considering the certainty of death, and the uncertainty of the time thereof, I do make, publish and declare this to be my last will and testament. I leave my parental affections to my three sons, praying them to live kind and affectionate to each other, fearing God and keeping his commandments. ITEM First, I give and divise to my son James H. Foy one negro man named George to him, his heirs and assigns, one bead and furniture, one mahogany table, one set cane bottum chairs, one set silver tea spoons with my name on them, ten head sheep, two cows & calves, one yoke of oxen, also one note I hold against him for one hundred and twenty dollars. ITEM Second, I give and devise to my son Christopher D. Foy one negro man named Bob and one negro woman Rose, I also wish him to keep in his possession all of my Negroes untill December next, also give him two bead and furniture, one mahogany table, one beaureau, two sets of chairs, one set table spoons marked with my name, I also give him all my kitchen, dairy, and table furniture, loom & gear, also all of my hogs, cattle, and sheep not otherwise disposed of, one sorrell mare. I also leave him one hundred dollars to be paid out of the note I hold against Joseph S. & Charles H. Foy. ITEM Third, I give and devise to my darling son, my youngest son Frederick N. Foy, one negro boy, Kincy and negro girl Julia, one young horse, I also give him one judgment I hold against Brice Burnap, and one note against Joshua Foy and John A. Sanders, also one note against Christopher D. Foy for seventy five dollars, two beads and furniture, one set tea spoons marked with the letters F.F., one trunk and one chest, one note I hold against Joseph S. and Charles H. Foy. ITEM Fifth (Note: fourth seems to be omitted), I wish all three of my sons to bear there proportion in paying my doctors bills if the notes I hold against Isaac Taylor, John Hewitt and M. F. Matticks is not sufficient to pay off and discharge them. ITEM Sixth, I give and devise to my son Christopher D. Foy all the residue of my house furniture. I do nominate and appoint my son James H. Foy to be the sole Executor of this my last will and testament. In testimony whereof, I the said Christian Foy do hereunto set my hand seal this 24th day of March AD 1845. Foy, the Executor therein named, appeared in open court and was duly qualified, and it was by the court that letters testamentary be granted him and this will ordered to be recorded and filed.
