I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Serena Hobbs six cows and one two-year- old bull to be chosen out of my stock. I also give unto my beloved wife Serena Hobbs three three-year old hogs (banows?); also two sows and seven (shoatz?), also two year old boar and two fat hogs that is now in my plantation. I also bequeath to my beloved wife Serena all my potatoe crop and two thirds of my corn crop. I also give and bequeath to my beloved wife all of my household and kitchen furniture and all the remaining part of my estate consisting of 1 mare and cart, cattle and hogs and other things too tedious to mention, I leave to be sold and my just debts all paid out of the same, and the remainder of any to be given to my beloved wife Serena Hobbs. I also nominate, constitute and appoint Elza S. Hardison sole executrix of this my last will and testament; In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this the 7th day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty two. Then was the foregoing paper writing purporting to be the last will and testament of Elijah Hobbs deceased, offered for probate and admitted as such upon the oaths of Jeremiah W. Yopp and Evan Hansley, Esq., the subscribing witnesses thereto. (Illegible) Elza S. Hardison, Esq., appeared in open court and was duly qualified as Executor aforesaid, when it was ordered that letters testamentary be granted to said Executor and this will recorded as the last will & testament of Elijah Hobbs.
