This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Beverly Cole ==================================================================== ALFRED HORN WILL State of North Carolina County of Onslow Will Book 2 In the name of God, Amen, I, Alfred Horn, of the County of Onslow and State of North Carolina, being of sound mind and memory and considering the uncertainty of this frail and transatory life, do therefore make, ordain, publish and declare this to be my last will and testament, that is to say, First after all my lawful debts are paid and discharged, the residue of my estate real and personal, I give, bequeath and dispose of as follows, to wit. To my beloved wife all my lands and apertanenances situated thereon, also all my home stock and mare and all my working tools and all my house furniture during the term of her natural life and after her death, my lands to be divided between my two sons Lewis T. Horn and Henry R. Horn. To my son Henry, the home tract where I now live and part of another tract running from the north east corner of the home tract to (Jery?) branch, one hundred yards above the corner on the west side of that line to belong to my son Henry, the balance of my land I give to my son Lewis, the rest of the above mentioned property is to be equeally devided between my three children, namely Lewis T., Henry R., and Marcy C., my stock of cattle at Thomas Simpson's is to be sold by my son John A. Horn at private sale and the money equeally devided between my two dawters Serena and Martha. I leave Right W. Briant six dollars in money. I leave my son John one dollar in money. I give my son Lewis the privelidge of runing a ditch a crop apart of the home tract likewise I make constitute and appoint my said son John and Hosea Fountain to be executors of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former will by me made in witness whareof I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed my seal Feb 26th 1858 in presence of us Hosea Fountain Lewis N. Horn (signed) Alfred Horn State of North Carolina} Onslow County} Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions June Term 1858 Then was the foregoing paper writing purporting to be the last will and testament of Alfred Horn decd., offered for probate in open court and admitted upon the testimony of Hosea Fountain and Lewis N. Horn, the subscribing witnesses thereto and the same ordered to be recorded and filed as the last will and testament of said Alfred Horn and whereupon (left blank……….), the executor therein named appeared in open court and was duly qualified and letters testamentary ordered to give to him.
