I, Sarah Jones of the County of Onslow of State of N. Carolina, firmly convinced according to the course of nature, my body must earlong return to the dust from whence it came, and the vital sparke which animates it to the great auther of light & life & being desirous settling all my business of worldly conserns do make and ordain this my last will & testament, in the words and form following. I give and bequeath to my son Allen B. Jones, all my land that lies on the north side of Starkeys Creek, in the county of Onslow, with building & every other improvement appertaining thereto, him, his heirs and assigns. 2nd I give & bequeath the residue of my lands in the county of Onslow, with the exception of a peace lying on the North East to the children of my son John S. Jones, to them, there heirs & assigns. I do hereby constitute and apoint my worthy friend William P. Ferrand my executor to this my last will & testament, revoking all others. Newbould State of North Carolina} Onslow County} Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions, May Term 1845} Then was the foregoing paper writing exhibitted in open court as the last will and testament of Sarah Jones, deceased, and the due execution thereof proved in open court by the oath of William Ferrand, one of the subscribing witnesses thereto. It is considered by the said court that said paper writing is the last will and testament of Sarah Jones, deceased and that the same be admitted to probate as such. Whereupon it is ordered that the same be recorded and filed as said last will and testament when William P. Ferrand, the executor named in said will, came into court and was duly qualified as such.
