I, Elijah Justice Jr., considering the uncertainty this mortal life, and being of sound mind and memory, do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following (that is to say). First, I give to my beloved wife Polly fifty barrels of corn, two thousand pounds of pork, my bay horse Solomon and horse cart, four choice cows and calves of my stock, thirty head of my choice stock hogs, three beds and furniture, one table, one set of chairs and all of my kitchen furniture, with the necessary farming utentials. I also give to my wife six choice stack of fodder, all my potatoe crop that is growing; I give and bequeath to my eldest son Robert Justice one negro boy by the name of Silas and one negro girl named Julia and I give and bequeath to my two daughters, Clarissa and Zilphah, a negro girl a piece, viz., to Clarissa, Hannah and to Zilphah, Harriet. The increase of said Negroes to be equally divided when the youngest of the two daughters come of age. I give to my youngest son George W. Justice my Negro man Dick and Negro girl Jane. I leave all my lands that I now own to be equally divided between my two sons Robert and George. ITEM all the above mentioned property naimed of to my wife, I give during her natural life or widowhood. I nominate and apoint my son Robert Justice Executor together with my friend Richard M. King. N.B. I leave all my unmentioned property to be sold on a credit of six months and the proceed thereof to be appropriated to the payin of all my debts and defraying all necessary funeral expences and the balance to be equally divided between all my heirs living. The Executors alredy being named to this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me maid, in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and fixed my seal this the third day of October in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and fifty four. Justice Robert Hardison State of North Carolina} Onslow County} Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions December Term 1854 Then was a paper writing purporting to be the last will and testament of Elijah Justice Jr., decd., exhibited for probate by Robert Justice and Richard M. King, the Executors therein named and the due execution thereof by the said Elijah Justice Jr., is proved by the oath and examination of Robert Hardison, one of the subscribing witnesses thereto. It is therefor considered by the court that the said paper writing and any part thereof is the last will and testament of the said Elijah Justice Jr., decd., and the same is ordered to be recorded and filed and thereupon the said Robert Justice and Richard M.
