I will and direct that all my just debts and funeral expences be full paid and satisfied and (illegible) thereto I devise and bequeath unto my two grand children Andrew J. Johnston and William H. Johnston & to their heirs forever all my lands of every description to be equally divided between them when the said Andrew J. Johnston shall have arrived at the age of twenty one (21) years. I lend to my daughter Polly Hemby one negro girl by the name of Charlotte and her increase untill the said Andrew J. Johnston shall have attained the said age of twenty one (21) years, I then I give the said Charlotte and her increase to the said Andrew J. Johnston and William H. Johnston & to their executors and administrator forever to be equally divided between them. I give and bequeath unto Andrew J. Johnston one feather bed & furniture and unto William H. Johnston one feather bed & furniture. And here I wish it to be distinctly understood and provided that the above legacies of every description to William H. Johnston are given upon the condition that they shall be accepted in full satisfaction of any demand which the said William H. may have against me or any other person an account of a balance due for the purchase of land divised to the said William H. by my late husband Banister Lester and which was sold under execution; and upon the further consideration that the said William H. execute a full release of the same to my executor hereafter appointed. Any monies arising out of my late husband's office of clerk of the county court and the hands of Luke Huggins or otherwise due to me from the aforesaid source, I direct to the education of my two grand children above mentioned. I give & bequeath to my daughter Polly Hemby one negro man by the name of Sam; and one negro woman by the name of (Hellen?); and the balance of my house hold & kitchen furniture. I give to my son Thomas Johnston one Negro man by the name of Dandy. And I hereby constitute and appoint my friend Dexter Burns sole executor of this my last will and testament whereof I now subscribe my name & set my seal the 3rd day of August AD 1835.
