I, Seny Mashborne, of North Carolina, Onslow County, being week in body but of perfect sound mind and memory do make this my last will and testament in manner and form following. First, my will and desire is that all my parishable property to be equally devided among my three daughters that is Seny Banks, Selah S. White, and Edney Williams. 2ndly, I desire and my wishes is that all my Negroes shall be equally devided amongst my three daughters as above named, after paying off all my just debts that is for them to be equally divided and set off in lotts by Jno. A. Averitt, Bryan S. Koonce & Nathan Sylvester. Also my wishes is that all my turpentine to be applied to the use of paying of my debts, what debts remain in the woods and also what Mr. White of any has received and also a note worth 5 or 6 dollars to the (blank - nothing written here). My wishes is for one hundred dollars out of the above named property to be given to Catharine Philyaw and also one hundred dollars to be given to William Ballard by my executor. Also, my wishes is for a note worth sixty dollars to be given payable to myself to be given up to the said Seny Banks. My wishes is to be no account made of said note with the (word missing?) out of my property but given up to her clear gain. I also give to my grand daughter, Seana Ann Banks, my feather bed, also my new feathers I give to Selah S. Banks, which bed and feathers I freely give & furniture to the said Seny and Selah S. Banks, to them, theirs and assigns forever. (Inserted between lines - "also one cott I give to Henry T. Banks, Jr."). My wishes is that my worthy friend Lewis Williams make presentments of my accounts for turpentine against Mr. White or any other person to the use of my debts. I also leave my worthy friend Jno. A. Avirett my executor to this my last will and testament, dated 10th of Aug 1847. Then was the foregoing paper writing purporting to be the last will and testament of Seny Mashborne and offered for probate in open court and admitted upon the oath of James Brown, one of the subscribing witnesses thereto as such last will and testament, and John A.
