This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Beverly Cole ==================================================================== JOHN PEIRSON SR WILL State of North Carolina County of Onslow Will Book 2 In the name of God, Amen, I John Peirson being weak in body but of sound and disposing mind and memory, blessed be God do this second day of June in the year 1812, make and publish this my last will and testament in maner following, that is to say, my body to be commited to its mother earth in a decent and Christian like manner and my soul into the hands that made it. Imprimis, my will is that all my just debts be paid then as follows. ITEM I give to my son John Peirson my Bearhead land including my plantation where I now live with all the benefits and privileges that does or may arise therefrom after the first day of January 1814. ITEM I give to my daughter Mary Cary all the property she had off when married, consisting of one feather bed, some cattle and sundry other articles, with a horse she now has in possession to her and her heirs forever. ITEM I give to my daughter Ruth Melton one feather bed furniture and bed stead, also all the hogs that may be found in William Melton's mark (?), to her and her heirs forever. ITEM I give to my daughter Lydia Hart all the property she had off when married consisting of one feather bed and some cattle with other articles to her and her heirs forever. ITEM I give to my daughter Sabra one cow and calf which cow is called lillie's heifer, one sow and pigs, two barrow hogs of the best I have, one feather bed bedstead and furniture calls her bed, two chests, one called hers and the other mine, one cotton wheel and cloth loom to her and her heirs forever. ITEM I give to my daughter Jemima Cragg all the property she had off when married consisting of one feather bed and some cattle with other articles, also one cow and calf she how has in possession called Cherry, three barrels of corn to be taken out of my barn this summer to her and her heirs forever. Also it is my will that my aforementioned daughters Ruth and Sabra have the use of my dwelling house kitchen and all other out houses with my plantation and plantation tools with my negro man Chearles and the provisions of all kinds that now in store, also the crop that is now on the land to have and to hold the same peacably and quietly to direct the same in any manner they see proper and to equally divide the income between them untill the first day of January 1814. Then the said plantation and tools belonging thereto to go to my son John, him and his heirs forever, and the negro Chearles to be sold, the money to be equally divided among my children. Also my banks land lying on Core Banks in Carteret County to be sold and the money to be equally divided among my daughters and all the rest of my estate both real and personal to be sold and the money to be equally divided among all my children. Further, I do make and ordain my son John Peirson (Jr.) and David Ward Executors to this my last will and testament to take care and see the same performed according to my true intent and meaning, in witness whereof I the said John Peirson (Sr.) to this my last will and testament set my hand and seal the day and year above written, sealed published & declared by the said John Peirson as and for his last will and testament in the presence of us whose names are here under written who did each of us subscribe our names as witnesses at his request and in his presents in the house where he lived, further this will revoke and make void all other wills heretofore made by me.
