I, Matilda Shepard, being of sound mind and memory but knowing that its once appointed for all persons to die, I make and ordain this my last will and testament as follows, viz. ITEM the first I leave my son Samuel Shepard my Executor to my will. ITEM 2nd I give to my daughter Eliza Melton ten dollars in cash to be paid by my Executor. ITEM 3rd I give to my son (Ruly?) Shepard one cow calf & yearling to be paid by my Executor = also one bed & furniture that he now has in possession. ITEM 4th I give to my daughter Sarah Ann Shepard one bed & furniture, one two year old heifer yearling, when she comes of age, to be paid by my Executor, all the balance of my property of every description, I give to my son Samuel Shepard to dispose of as he may think fit.
