However, in the order to record at the bottom of the will, the transcriber names "Letitia Shackleford" as being the testatrix. I have transcribed this as the "LETITIA SHACKELFORD WILL" because of the references to "Elisha P. Marcey" in the body of the will, indicating "Elisha Shackelford" to be the daughter of testatrix. Perhaps there is a researcher who can confirm the identity of the testatrix. (bgc 11-02-2001) In the name of God, amen. I, Elisha Shackelford, being of sound and perfect mind and memory, do make and publish this my last will and testament, that is to say, I give and bequeath to my son James P. Shackelford my negro man Abram and a bed and furniture and for him, the said James, to pay to Elisha P. Marcey three hundred dollars. Also I give and bequeath to my daughter Elisha P. Marcy my Negro man Bob, a bed and furniture. Also I give and bequeath to Zadoc Marcey and children ten dollars. Also I give and bequeath to the heirs of Moriah Pigot ten dollars, they having received equivalent heretofore. Also I give and bequeath to Hannah S. Russell my negro woman Polly with all my stock, crop, household and kitchen furniture, with every thing else to me belonging for her, the said Hannah, to pay my just debts. And I hereby make and ordain my friend David Ketchum Executor to this my last will and testament. In witness thereto I have set my hand and seal. (signed) Elisha Shackelford Robert G.
