This file was contributed for use in the North Carolina USGenWeb Archives by: Beverly Cole ============================================================================ Record of Wills, Book A 1800-1825 Onslow County North Carolina In the name of God Amen I Daniel Ambrose of Onslow County being in health and of sound and perfect mind and memory blessed be God but calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing it is appointed for all men once to die, do this 17th day of Aug, 1811 make and publish this my last will and testament in manner following that is to say. First: I lend unto my grand daughter Rebekah Farr one Negro girl slave during of her natural life and after her death to return to my children. Then after my decease I lend unto my beloved wife Sarah Ambrose all my whole estate during of her widow hood then after the death or inter marriage of my beloved wife Sarah Ambrose, I give unto beloved children all my whole estate real and personal of every denomination to be equally devided among them male and female. Then my will is that if I have any silver money by me at my deceased that it should be equally devided among my three daughters further more my will is that neither of my daughters should ever be disturbed or hindered from enjoying the benefit of my plantation or however, so long as they remain single life, whoever it may get into the hands of, I do ordain constitute and appoint Thadrath Ambrose and Reuben Ambrose and Daniel Ambrose executor of this my last will and testament in whereof I hereunto set my hand seal the day and date above written. Daniel Ambrose Elbert Dudly, esq., James Thompson & Banster Lester proved the handwrighting of Daniel Ambrose who signed the written will July Term 1812.
