I, Elizabeth Brinson, of the County of Onslow and State of North Carolina, being of sound and perfect mind and memory, blessed be God, do this 2nd day of December in the year of our Lord 1807, make and publish this my last will and testament in manner following, that is to say: Item: I give and bequeath unto my son, James Cason, six dollars specific to him and his heirs forever. Item: I give and bequeath unto my daughter, Nancy Ellis, one shilling sterling to her and her heirs forever. Item: I lend unto my daughter Nancy Ellis my Negro woman named Aray and her increase if any during my said daughter Nancy Ellis's natural life and after her death, it is my will and desire that my said Negro woman Aray and her increase if any to be equally divided between all my daughter Nancy Ellis's children begotten of her body to them and their heirs forever. Item: I give unto my daughter Rachel Maulamoor one bed and furniture to her and her heirs forever. Item: I give unto my daughter Rebeckah Johnston one shilling sterling to her and her heirs forever. Item: I lend unto my daughter Rebeckah Johnston my bed and furniture that I be on, and a cow named Prity Maid during her natural life and after her death to return to Nancy's children as above mentioned respecting the loan of my Negro woman Aray and increase to Nancy Ellis's children. Item: I give and bequeath unto my grandson, Cason Ellis, one cow named Pink and her yearling to him and his heirs forever. Item: I give and bequeath unto Ele Ellis, son of Ele Ellis, one cow named Cherry and her yearling to him and his heirs forever. Item: I give and bequeath unto my grandson Elisha Ellis one cow named Pegion to him and his heirs forever. My will and desire is that if either of the aforementioned children should die before they arrive to the age of twenty one years that the other two to heir the cattle mentioned and if two of them should die that the other should heir the hole of cattle namely Cason, Ele, Elisha. Item: I leave my Negro man Simon at the discretion of my executors to be hired out annually and the money arising there from to be equally divided between my three daughters Rebeckah, Rachel and Nancy, yearly during their natural life and after their deaths my will and desire is that my said Negro Simon be sold and the moneys arising be equally divided between my daughter Nancy Ellis's children. Item: My will and desire is that if Ele Ellis, son of Ele Ellis, should live to the age of twenty one years, for money sufficient of my estate to be raised at the discretion of my executors to buy the said Ele Ellis a good sute of clothes. Item: It is also my will and desire that all the residue of my estate of what kind so ever not otherwise disposed of to be equally divided between my three daughters Rebeckah, Rachel and Nancy. And I hereby make and ordain my worthy friends Thos. Pitt, John Ballard and David Gornto executors of this my last will and testament. Set my hand and seal the day and the date above written.
