This file was contributed for use in the North Carolina USGenWeb Archives by: Beverly Cole ============================================================================ Record of Wills, Book A 1800-1825 Onslow County, North Carolina In the name of God, Amen; I, Sarah Burk, of Onslow County, State of North Carolina, being sick & weak in body but of sound mind & memory, thanks be to God; do make and ordain this my last will & testament in the following manner, VIZ: I will that all my debts & funeral expenses be paid. I give and bequeath to my grandson William Burk four head of cattle; also, one dozen pewter plates, 3 pewter dishes & four pewter basins. I give & bequeath unto my said grandson half dozen table spoons & ½ dozen tea spoons. I give and bequeath to my said grandson one large dinning table & 1 tea table & four flag bottomed chairs. I give & bequeath to my said grandson eleven head of hogs. I give and bequeath to my said grandson three chest, 1 of which is filled with wearing apparel which chest with said clothing I desire should be sold. I give and bequeath to my said grandson one dozen earthen plates, 6 earthen bowls, two glass tumblers & a wine glass, together with a chest filled with cotton and all the provision I may have on hand at the time of my decease. I give and bequeath to my grandson William Burk one wollen wheel, I linen wheel, one pair of cotton cards & 1 pair flat irons. I give and bequeath to my said grandson all of my lumber & every other article I may die possessed of which is not included in the body of this my last will. My will and desire is that all the above mentioned articles should be sold & the money arising there from to be kept at interest, & the interest arising there from to be applied to the schooling of my said grandson William Burk & that the said William as soon as he shall be old enough to be put to what trade himself may choose. And last, I do appoint my friend William Hellen executor of this my last will & testament hereby revoking all former wills.
