I hereby give my body to be buried in a decent Christian manner and I recommend my soul in the hands of God who gave it. Item: I lend to my beloved wife Obedene my dwelling house and plantation, all on this side the Deep Bottom during her natural life or widowhood. Also, my whole stock of hoggs, cattle and sheep as long as my family live together and then to be equally divided when my youngest child comes of age. Item: I give to my beloved son William Capps my dwelling house and plantation all on this side the Deep Bottom at his mother's death or intermarriage. Item: I give to my beloved son Cason Capps the other part of my land on the other side of the Deep Bottom with one half of the mill, also one bay horse to him and his heirs forever. Item: I give to my beloved daughter Elizabeth Capps my road plantation containing two hundred and fifty acres of land to her and her assigns forever. Item: I give to my beloved daughter Seulah Capps seventy-eight acres of land lying on Hicks Run with seventy acres in another track for priviledge to her and her heirs forever. Also one canoe, two shot guns and one berpplow of leave to be sold at public sale, also two canoes in the desert, one pair of large stilliards to be sold. Also, my Negro man Toney and his wife Clary to be hired out together and the money to be put to schooling my children and the rest to be kept on interest and then equally divided among my four children when they come of age. Also my four Negroes with all their increase to be equally divided by lot among my four children when they all come of age. Also, of the lands that I leave to my two daughters, to be rented out for repair until it is under good repair, then to be rented to the highest bidder. The money to be kept on interest until they come of age, then to be equally divided among my four children. I also constitute and appoint my friend Lemuel Hardison and my son William Capps my whole and sole executors to this my last will and testament, in witness hereunto I set my hand and seal in the presence of us all, October 26th 1823.
