This file was contributed for use in the North Carolina USGenWeb Archives by: Beverly Cole ============================================================================ Record of Wills, Book A 1800-1825 Onslow County, North Carolina State of North Carolina} Onslow County} I, John Cary, being weak of body but of sound mind and memory, doth make this my last will this 4th day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixteen, is as follows: First: I recommend my soul into the hands of my creator, then my body to be decently inturd by my executor, then my real and personal estate to be divided as follows: Item: I lend to my beloved wife Rachel Cary one hundred acres of land on the North corner of my tract of land including the house I live in with all the cleared ground during her natural life and at my wife's death to my son Soloman Cary. Item: I give unto my beloved wife Rachel Cary all my household furniture of every kind and all my plantation tools of every kind, and stock of cattle & hogs that I possess. Item: I give unto my beloved son Soloman Cary all the remaining part of my land to him, his heirs and assigns forever. Namely, I give my daughter Tabitha Sawyer one dollar; also I give my son Stephen Cary twenty five cents; also my son John Cary twenty-five cents. It is my will and I do appoint my wife Rachel Cary and my son Soloman Cary my executrix and executor to this my last will and testament whereunto I have set my hand and fix my seal day and date above written.
