I, Isaac Charlescraft of the State of North Carolina and County of Onslow, being very sick and low in body but of perfect mind and memory, blessed be God for the same, and calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is once appointed for all men to die, do make, ordain and constitute this my last will and testament. First, I give and recommend my soul into the hands of Almighty God and my body to the earth to be buried in a decent Christian manner not doubting but at the general resurrection I shall review the same again by the might power of God that gave it. And as touching such worldly estate as it hath pleased God to bless me with in this life, I give , dismiss and dispose of the same in the following manner and form; First: I give to my son Daniel Charlescraft all that tract of land lying to the eastward of Alex Nowles patent line known by the name of French's place and the remainder of my land to be equally divided between my two smaller sons, Durant and Anthony, to be divided from the river to the head line of the patent and my upper plantation. Reserving only my wife Sally Charlescraft life or widowhood in all my lands, all the rest of my property I leave to be equally divided between my wife and Fanny Huggins and all my children. My wife's part to be to her during her widowhood, then to be equally divided between her own children; Daniel Charlescraft, Nancy Charlescraft, Naoma Charlescraft, Durant Charlescraft and Anthony Charlescraft. I likewise nominate and appoint my son Daniel Charlescraft executor of this my last will and testament with William French and Edward Graham of Craven County executors in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 16th day of March 1817. Isaac Charlescraft (seal) Signed sealed and delivered in the presence of us who where in his presence and in the presence of each other. Everett Simmons Joseph Burns
