This file was contributed for use in the North Carolina USGenWeb Archives by: Beverly Cole ============================================================================ Record of Wills, Book A 1800-1825 Onslow County, North Carolina In the name of God: I, Thomas Coston of the County of Onslow and the State of North Carolina, being sick of body but of perfect mind and memory and knowing that all men has once to die, I do recommend my soul to God who gave it and my body to the earth to be buried in a Christian like manner at the discretion of my executors after nominated. And as for what worldly goods it has been please God to give me, I dispose of in the following manner; that is to say, first of all, my will and directs is that as much as my perishable property be sold as will pay all my just debts. Item: I first of all lend unto my beloved wife Lucy Coston the whole of my property during her natural life or widowhood. I give and bequeath unto my three beloved daughters Nelly Coston, Caty Coston & Lucy Coston one feather bed apiece. I give and bequeath unto my four beloved sons Levy Coston, Thomas Coston, John Coston and Brice Coston all of my lands and all of my horses, cattle & hogs, to be equally divided between the said boys and if either Thomas Coston, John Coston, or Brice Coston dies within the age of twenty one years, then Levy Coston is to inherit their rites of the land. I give and bequeath unto my daughter Easter one shilling sterling. I revoke all other wills, establishing this to be my last will and testament and, lastly of all, I nominate William King and Lucy Coston as executors of this my last will and testament whereas I have hereunto set my hand and seal in the presents of (testators): (on) January 21st day 1814.
