This file was contributed for use in the North Carolina USGenWeb Archives by: Beverly Cole ============================================================================ Records of Wills, Book A 1800-1825 Onslow County, North Carolina In the name of God, Amen: I, Barnabas Henderson Senior in the County of Onslow and State of North Carolina, planter, knowing that it is appointed once for all men to die and being in my proper senses, thanks be to God for the same, doth nominate and appoint after my decease, my world affairs as follows, (viz.): 1s,t that all my just debts shall be paid, if any, after my funeral expences. Secondly, I give unto my son Charles Henderson one shotgun and shot bag. Thirdly, I give unto my son Ezekiel Henderson one large pewter dish. Fourthly, I give unto my son Barnabas Henderson (Junior) one yearling heffer. Fifthly, I give unto my son Josiah Henderson one pair hand bellows. Sixthly I give unto my daughter Sarah Morton one trunk. Seventhly, I give unto my daughter Elizabeth Edmonston one pewter basin. Eighthly and lastly I give to my wife Mary Henderson all the rest of my property for to enable her to raise and school my two children, Hardy and Jesse Henderson that I had by her, provided the said Mary Henderson converts it to the above use. If not applied in right manner, my son Barnabas will see that my son Hardy and Jesse shall be entitled to the same and I appointed my lawful wife Mary Henderson to act as executrix on company with my son Barnabas as executor to my estate. And I so revoke all other wills by me made but this. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this first day of June 1799.
