Nothing doubting but I shall receive the same at the general resurrection and as touching such worldly estate, wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me with, I give and dispose of in the following manner and form: I leave to my wife Elizabeth Hobbs all my worldly estate that I now possess, for her support during her natural life, not to be made any waste of, but what will support her. If any things more than for her use, to be given equally to my two sons Edward and Simon at her deceased, then to be equally divided by lot between my two sons Edward Hobbs and Simon Hobbs (Jr.). My land I now live on (is to be) equally divided between my two sons (and) my son Simon Hobbs to have the part that I now live on. I constitute and appoint Charles Hardison Senior and Edward Hobbs my whole and sole executors to this my last will and testament, in witness hereto I have set my hand and seal this twenty fifth day of March one thousand eight hundred and we who in his presents and in the presents of each other have hereunto set our hands. Simon (his X mark) Hobes Charles Harderson Shadrack Hall Onslow County: In court January term 1801, the within will was proved by the oath of Shadrack Hall, Charles Harderson, one of the executors therein named qualified thereto.
